We are going to Florida early next year with a 10 year old & 13 year old boys if you have boys of similar ages tell me what they loved and what is worth missing? The 10 year old loves animals so planning on animal kingdom the 13 year old will be happy going on all of the terrifying rides but don't want to miss anything they would love.

Universal is the place for you. buy the books WDW with kids and Beyond WDW with kids. they have touring plans in the back to ensure you make the most of your time and ones for toddlers, teens etc. best thing we ever did was buy these books.

mine easily preferred the rides at universal but also liked Epcot as well. they enjoyed some of the evening things like the shows. the water parks are good for the older ones if they are confident swimmers.

Thank you I will definitely buy those books.

We went when our boys were 14,12 and 10. We virtually lived in Universal, when we weren't there they loved the water parks. Hardly went to Disney, and they though Epcot was ok but we only went there 2 days, I think.

Ripleys Believe It Or Not Museum is a good early evening activity before having a meal out. Lots of interesting, silly, slightly icky, amusing exhibits. Great for boys of that age. There's a decent steakhouse nearby with a great salad bar for afterwards.

Thanks just want to make sure we don't miss anything.

I'm so excited. I really want to go to discovery cove.

It's a great holiday. I found it a bit tedious traipsing around the theme parka, day in, day out but the boys and the Dh loved it. I can't think what else we did, other than a lot of crazy golf. For me, I wouldn't be interested in going back, but it was a great one off experience.

I doubt we will do it again so that's why I want to make sure we make the most of it.

If you have a car, and time, I'd head out to Busch Gardens, it's great for thrill rides, and also had animals . If you are doing Discovery Cove, you can add Busch gardens on fairly cheaply.
I agree that your boys will probably get more out of universal than Disney.

You really need to go to NASA Excellent set up. The tour bus is very good and highly suitable for that age. Best to get there early if you can.

FortyFacedFuckers · 03/10/2015 19:36

Oh yes bush gardens is on the list.
Oh nasa I hadn't thought of that.

They might enjoy Daytona Beach.
