We had it all planned yesterday as the weather forecast was for dry sunny weather.
DH and DS cycling with DS on the trailer bike and me and DD with DD in her bike seat. Finally, the first time we've managed to go cycling all 4 of us together.
And now it's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring!!

DS has shown no interest in going swimming. Any other ideas?
We've open to any suggestions at all as neither DH or I seem very creative this morning.

TIA

Make some cakes ?

thanks nomdeplume, cakes sound good. just going to check cupboard for ingredients.

DS would like to play football in the garden in the rain which will last all of 2 mins I should think so might have to get soaking wet while the oven is warming up.

Make them go through their bedrooms to see what toys they've got to make room for things at Christmas. Ds has just discovered loads of Star Wars stuff he'd forgotten he had and he and dd are v happily playing with it in the kitchen.

Or have popcorn and a movie snuggled on the sofa. We watched Stormbreaker yesterday, loved it

Or make fairy cakes, easy peasy Nigella recipe (125g each of flour, butter and sugar, 2 eggs, 1tsp baking powder and vanilla essence, whizz in mixer and cook for 20 mins) or make mini ones and let them have a teddy bear/dolly picnic (no idea how old yours are sorry!)

Or get a huge pile of books and read - again, no idea how old yours are but I quite like reading to mine

Get them to put on a play for you, make it up, make tickets, perform it etc

put the telly on

Go camping under the dining table with teddies and toast marshmallows on the fire for lunch.

more ideas - thank you. DH is upstairs with them in DS's bedroom (he's 5, DD is 20 months) and they are playing with some toys that haven't been touched in about 6 months. We've had 4 games of Kerplunk (great fun i'm pleased to say) and now I'm off to the shop quickly to buy the ingredients I need for the baking session!

DH unfortunately has to leave at 2.30 pm to catch a plane. Real shame as it's turning into a lovely family day after all.
thanks again all.

okay, my next question is going to be how to tidy and clean up after a day like this?
It's only 1pm and the house looks like a bopmb has hit it. I'm pleased to say though that we are all having a great time
Pizza party begins in 15 mins.
