We fly to Crete tomorrow and had an email last night to tell us our car hire charge has gone up from 660e to 800e due to tax hikes.
I thought I'd pass on the info.
It's a bit vague as our car hire is done through a friend so is a bit informal (until we get to airport and then all usual paperwork, it's not iffy!) so our info is a bit scant. Our info is its a VAT hike but not sure how accurate this is.
It could be, if you have booked and have a contract already, you'll be protected from any increase. It's not my intention to alarm anyone - just thought I'd share in case it's helpful to anyone else.
