I haven't booked yet and wondering should I with the recent events. Would I be silly to book/not book or should I just stay in The UK?

If yes, where would you go that is deemed safe not sure anywhere is? Considering canaries family 2 adults and 2 kids 13 & 9.

Europe is pretty big, you know. And the UK is in Europe.

specialsubject · 30/06/2015 20:45

nowhere is safe, we will all die.

UK has 7000 road deaths a year. Safe?

look on the FCO site, avoid no-go or warning areas. Make your own judgements. Behave appropriately. Look both ways before crossing road. Don't use quad bikes or motor scooters.

Wow thanks for being helpful!

in the nicest possible way, 'ask a silly question'.

don't try this on Lonely planet thorntree, you will get a roasting!

ralphlauren · 30/06/2015 23:26

Not sure what that is.

As the saying goes 'if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything'

Canaries sound good, or maybe Majorca/Menorca could be worth a look? We booked Greece - ages ago though.

Also think Portugal was looking 'safe' (as in about as much as can be) according to the maps last time I looked, Algarve is lovely

QueenBean · 30/06/2015 23:32

Greece will be fine and have some good deals

Try travel zoo.com, some amazing stuff there cheap as anything

Canaries are popular and cheap

Would avoid Turkey and North Africa though

Thank you

Recommend Algarve. Also I'm sure there'll be some good offers in Greece.

Christelle2207 · 01/07/2015 09:00

Ps risk of terrorism in UK is currently higher than most of Europe. So you'll probably be safer abroad!

WorktoLive · 01/07/2015 09:52

If you want to go abroad you probably need to book sooner rather than later as a lot of the people who had booked to go to Tunisia will be looking to change to somewhere else, so will probably take a lot of whatever availability there is left.

ihatethecold · 01/07/2015 18:50

I'm going to Ibiza in July then Sardinia in August.

I have not even considered it to be a risk.

Use common sense op, you'll be fine.

Heels99 · 01/07/2015 18:53

At this late stage wherever there is availability. Even UK is booked out for August.
