TGV - can you get off at earlier stop?

I've booked TGV to Marseilles but now think I may want to go to Avignon instead - can I get off at Avignon with no complications due to it not being my booked arrival & departure station?

I've travelled by tgv several times from paris to st brieuc and no one has ever checked my ticket upon arrival, so i would guess you would be fine. There are no barriers or anything in the stations not even in paris, but i have not done the route you are using so i cannot be completely sure. I would risk it though.

Make sure your train stops at Avignon!

There are no barriers, just machines to validate your ticket when you get on the train.
