I would just like to warn all parents that if they have booked a flight using Thomas Cook this year you will have a hard time getting the air passenger duty back for your children.
Their website promises that they will automatically return the money and when I have contacted them they either ignored my emails or just passed me from pillar to post hoping that I will eventually give up.
It's only a few pounds (about £13) per child but it's better in my pocket to spend on my son than it is in some multinational's pocket. If every parent gives up because it's too much hassle then think of the millions this airline will make?
I'm hoping that like me, other parents will keep pestering them until they return the money the Government has said is due to us.
