  • take nappies and wipes for the journey (double how many you think you need in case of delays)
  • be prepared for delayed or lost luggage - anything crucial put in your hand luggage
  • take a change of clothes for you, DH & baby
  • feed baby a drink (breast/bottle/cup) on descent and landing (sorts out ear popping)

There is a product you can buy to help with ear-popping, sort of like ear-plugs except that they keep the ear canal open (I think). They're called Earplanes .

24 hours is a hell of a journey, I don't envy you. Are you going to family out there? If so will they have things like mosquito nets, car seat etc? There's a good website called \link{http://www.travellingwithchildren.co.uk/acatalog/Travelling with children} which sells all sort of useful things like mossie repellant.
