Family room in hotel, France

Does anyone know which hotel chains have family rooms in hotels in France? Trying to book some overnight stops enroute from ferry to South of France (and back again) and can't find anywhere that lets us book the 4 of us (me, DH and 2 DC aged 7 and 3) into one room; and our budget is under a bit of pressure already so don't want to book 2 rooms for the 3 nights we need unless we really can't avoid it.

Try Ibis/Formule 1 (Accor) and Novotel. Some of these definitely do.

Thanks castles will do! Not heard of Formule 1 so will look those up

Novotel do, and they are very nice. If you book in advance you should get a good deal: they are much nicer than the cheap chain we stayed at before and cost only a bit more if you plan ahead.

Can't remember the name of the cheaper one, but it was pretty horrid tbh.

Ibis Budget do some rooms which have enough space/beds for the four of you.

They used to be Etap I believe.

We used Etap quite often a few years ago - as a family of five, we took two rooms - one adult in each.

There may be some independent hotels with family rooms too - they don't always work out more expensive.

Which towns do you want to stop off at?

Something like this - on the outskirts of town, has a pool and includes breakfast

bourges

Try Kryiad (prestige) too.

Thanks all! iwantgin we are thinking of Fougeres and Limoges on the way down (think you may have recommended Limoges on a previous thread?) as have 2 nights to travel down to stay near Carcassonne/Narbonne, and one night to travel back so thought we'd try a different route and stop in Bourges. You are like my personal travel advisor!

We stayed here www.premiereclasse.com/en in Le Mans on the way down to Bordeaux. They had family rooms for up to 4 but we split ourselves over 2 rooms because there are 5 of us! Was still v good value.

www.hotel-bb.com is a 'stopover' hotel that has rooms for up to 4 people.

I've used www.hotel-bb.com a few times and had good experiences.
They do a family room with 1 double bed and 2 singles for around €65 a night.

desperatedino66 · 02/04/2015 11:20

We are driving to Spain again, and this year we are using hotel-bb.com, p'tit dej and novotel.

We have also used

akena
ace hotels
adagio access
kyriad
premiere classe
holiday inn

We have stayed in a BB hotel in Bourges that had four beds cheap and comfy.

Check booking.com thats where I found most of mine.

I used hotels.com and found hotels with family rooms for 5 with no problems.

Try this

We tend to go for apartments - much more space, you can make your own light meals and we take the basics with us to pop in the fridge and make a picnic for the onward journey. They often don't have 24 hr reception and give you a code to get in and you collect your key from a safe.
