London Zoo - are fast tack tickets worth it?

I'm hoping to take our youngest daughter to London Zoo this Easter and have been looking at buying tickets online. ZSL are recommending buying fast track tickets to avoid queuing to get in. They are £3.50 each more expensive and I somewhat baulk at paying extra because they haven't got their queuing system right. I'm going to buy the tickets online rather than at the gate so just wanted to know whether its worth paying this amount (and swallowing my pride!) to avoid standing in line for hours with a 7 year old. Does anyone have any experience of this? Thanks

I've never queued for very long to get in there - we tend to go about 10am - 11am

I've never queued to get in, and I would usually arrive at about 10 or 11.

I would say it depends on the time of day you will arrive and whether it is peak holiday season.

We went one half term recently on standard (actually the 2 for 1 national rail) tickets. There was a massive queue but actually they have got their queue system sorted out so it moves v quickly. Not worth the extra IMO but I suppose it would be worse if some people didn't do it!
