I want to go somewhere nice at half term with DS(9) - we've never been on a proper holiday together. It'll be just the 2 of us.

Criteria:

Europe somewhere (not Croatia or Cyprus)
Guaranteed warmth
Good pool(s)
On or v near beach
good food
Some history/ culture/ pretty town to visit/ boat trip or something
Restaurants/ shops within walking distance
Family friendly (not Magaluf or Ayia Napa)

Maybe:
kids club for DS
spa for me

I was thinking the Algarve but Spain, Italy, maybe Greece or malta?

Crete should be pretty warm that time of year. Have been to Rethymnon, nice sandy beach.

Lots of interesting historical sites - Knossos, the remains of the ancient Minoan city, the Samarian Gorge.

Turkey is lovely at the end of May, the weather is perfect. Bodrum is a lovely area with nice beaches, loads to see, amazing history and culture and very family friendly.

Sardinia and Sicily. The med is definitely warm, if not hot at the end of May /beginning of June.

Another vote for turkey

We went to turkey the last week of may and the weather was excellent. 3o degrees every day. We went to the first choice holiday village but there are lots of other family friendly hotels with kids clubs (maybe a thomson family resort).
