Hi we are heading to Disneyland with dd9 & ds5 in a few weeks and just wondering where is the best between Cafe Mickey, Inventions and Auberge de Cendrillon for character dining? I know these places are not cheap but are they more or less similar in price?

Depends who you are looking to see. Auberge de Cendrillon is princesses, Café Mickey and Inventions are more the classic characters.

Café Mickey has always been our must do. I did notice this time there were less characters there than in previous years, but we were going off peak so that may also have made a difference. I should add made no difference to the Kids, Kids were absolutely delighted and loved it.

I do hear good things about Inventions but I have not been

Cafe Mickey was great, we went for breakfast. Its so so expensive though! 60-70 euros for breakfast for 3 of us, and its self-service. You get lots of time with the characters though. As Toffee said, its the classic characters - minnie, mickey, chip & dale, goofy, etc.

DD was awestruck by Cinderella and we had done Princess for the day too which made it magical. We saw Ariel, Snow White, and Cinderella and Prince Charming.

We had Cafe Michey for lunch on the last day and same Eeyore, Mickey, Goofy, Pluto and Rafiki.

Inventions dining was good and a large range of food we saw Mickey, Eeyore, Chip, Goofy and Pluto.

Buffalo Bills dinner was really good and we sat right at the front, the food was good and had lots of interaction with our Rodeo Clown and Indian.

All the food at Disneyland is expensive as you would expect and reports are that he fast food joints aren't very nice. The food at all the character dining was very nice and I think it's worth while paying the extra if you can afford it and get a HB premium or plus package (with the plus you'll have to pay a little towards the meal). It saves you having to queue for 2hrs to see a Princess too.

We enjoyed inventions and got lots of interaction with 7 characters. Going back in November and going to try for breakfast at cafe Mickey.

we found cafe mickey good value - I think we had a set menu in the evening. L'auberge de cendrillon was nice for the food but a bit too princessy.

We went to Inventions in 2013. It was brilliant. The food was very good restaurant quality and we saw about 8 characters, spending lots of time with them. It was more expensive than Cafe Mickey as I understand the food is much better and it's a calmer atmosphere. It's a lovely buffet. I seem to remember the reviews of the Auberge were that the food wasn't great, esp for children, and it was a set menu (or limited). Inventions was unlimited posh buffet.
