Help with activities/trips in the Black Forest Germany please

Thinking of going to the Black Forest in Germany this year for our summer holiday. Kids (10, 12) are generally up for anything and we will take bikes. If you have been I would be very grateful for some recommendations of things to do that your family enjoyed doing. I have read a few guide books but there is nothing like personal recommendations ! Please tell me what you liked/didn't like...

I don't have DC but we went to Freiburg last year which might be a good base. There's a cable car nearby which they should enjoy, and it's close to the EuropaPark theme park at Rust. There's good shops and restaurants and also a thermal baths.

Do you happen to know whether children could go in the thermal baths? EuropaPark and cable car have both been added to my list! Thank you.

Schauinsland is quite a famous hill/mountain near Freiburg. We walked to the top many years ago (through a snowstorm at Easter if I remember rightly) but there's a cable car too. Very picturesque.

We took our 5 children (aged 6 - 15) to the Black Forest 2 years ago and loved it. We were based in Freiburg which was wonderful. A joy to walk around - fantastic markets, great cathedral to explore with a tower to walk up and a lovely river walk. We spent a day at EuropaPark which was brilliant - so good we are thinking of a return visit this year. We also spent the day at Lake Titisee which was fun - walked around it and then hung out at the pool area of the lake. Spent another day driving around the towns of the Black Forest - eating cake if I remember! Also found a great luge ride that we rode endlessly. We all found it a great part of Germany to explore and could easily have done longer than the 4 days we did.
