I haven't been but have always wanted to as I worked in the City for years. I think it is one of those small quirky museums. Last time I looked there was stuff for children but possibly not for a 4 year old. They do have a website. You are pretty close to the Monument and then just south over London bridge is loads to do.

Yes, we've done it and our youngest daughter was 4 at the time. It's small but really interesting and they had some child-friendly stuff going on. I'm pretty sure there was a treasure trail or similar that she enjoyed doing. There was also a great story-telling session while we were there, but I don't know how regular that it.

Assuming your 4 year old is reasonably interested in looking at stuff I'd recommend it.
