Three kids 8, 4 and 1. Looking for fun pool areas, beach and play parks?

you need to be a bit more specific about how far you want to drive and how reliable the weather has to be. best site would be la garangeiore in vendee, but didn't like area much. best area is brittany, espec south brittany which has best weather.

Buttercup27 · 07/02/2015 14:22

Ooh was just thinking the same thing. Will watch with interest.

dol de bretagne and la grande metairie we've been to more than once. the former in part because we have football mad kids

Was actually hoping to do a budget flight. Would like nice weather, bit of heat and am amenable to France/Italy/Spain.

Serignan Plage - good pool, directly on Mediterranean beach, great play areas and perfect if you have a baby and bigger ones. Also great spa area for adults.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 07/02/2015 16:08

Camping Cypsela in Pals , Catalunya. Went there for years when a child and it was just as good when returning as an adult.

123Jump · 08/02/2015 15:01

Agree Serignan Plage. It has it all.

Onewomanandherdog · 08/02/2015 16:00

Cambrils Park is the best I've been to. 10-15 mins from Reus airport, 5 star complex, close enough for the beach and town so you don't need a car. We loved it and are back again this year

IsabellaofFrance · 09/02/2015 08:07

Marking place. We are looking for a really good one in France on the Med.

Corsu · 09/02/2015 08:21

When I was young we went to a camping place in north Italy, on one of the lakes. I loved it. Not sure what my parents thought though..!

We have flown to Rome, and taxi'd to a Eurocamp just outside the city. There was a beach about 10 mins away on the (frequent) busses, but we never made it off site.

This year flying to Béziers, and there are loads of sites closeby, and many right on the beach.

Ooh, will watch this one with interest. We're after similar in Spain or possible.

Southern France. We've enjoyed Les Charmettes in Charante Maritime but weather was iffy. Castell Montrgri on costa Brava was great but pools were really deep. Agree that Cambrils Park is brilliant, but mega pricey for August.

itwillgetbettersoon · 09/02/2015 19:12

Parc albatros italy. Train from pisa then £10 e taxi.

sweetkitty · 26/02/2015 20:36

Oh just looking for this, were a family of 6, looking at a week in Spain near a beach in a mobile home, not driving so looking at cheap flights.
Good news is we're in Scotland so can go end of June/start of July before English hols

Willabywallaby · 06/03/2015 19:47

We also loved Serignan plage.

Datahub · 06/03/2015 19:48

la RIve in SW france

iwantgin · 08/03/2015 19:38

thought I had replied on this one, but seemingly not.

We had a week in Vilanova Park one August. The boys would have been 9, 11 and 12 iirc.

Flew to Barcelona (was cheap as booked Easyjet a good few monts in advance) and the campsite had organised us a taxi from the airport down to the site. It was a good price.

We stayed in amobile home, using Thomson Al Fresco. All was fine. It was very hot.

The site is large - and there are lots of facilities- two pools, couple of takeaways, restaurant, internet cafe, shop etc. Evening entertainment, kids games etc. Our boys weren't bothered about joining in so can't comment.

Bus right out side the gates goes down into Vilanova I la Geltru. A good sized town, with a couple of large supermarkets - many shops. Train station there goes straight to Barcelona.

The beaches are lovely in town - and we spent quite some time down there.

In retrospect we would have found it easier with a hire car - not great when it's so hot and we are all having to carry groceries to the bus. But it was certainly a fun holiday - no complaints from any of the DC.
