My friend moved to Zante last year and we would really love to go and visit her. Her in-laws run a hotel in the resort of Kalamaki. We have two dd's ages 4 and 7, we are considering staying in Athens for a couple of nights on the way.

Any advise would be great.

Thanks.

(also known as Zakynthos)

I went 18 years ago on honeymoon and it was fab. Not a lot to do but the beaches are great.

From an environmental point of view, you need to be careful re the turtles. They are loggerhead turtles and are an endangered species. They are too often attracted to the lights of the beachside cafes and bars, lay their eggs in the sand there, and the eggs get destroyed or the turtles disturbed by tourists. Try and make sure if you are going to see them that you do so sensitively.
