Is Sri Lanka okay in May....or August?!

I have already posted for holiday ideas, and have had some help from mumsnetters and have decided to take my son to Sri Lanka this year. However I am a teacher and can only go in holiday time. I am planning a tour around Negromba, Sirigiya, Kandy, Galle and Mirissa, Nurwarelyia, Ella. May is so much cheaper but I am concerned about the weather. Has anyone any experience of this?

I teach too, so we went end July / August. The weather was fine. Overcast some days but always warm. I say warm ... Probably 28-30 degrees! It was an amazing experience.
