Holiday companies for lone travellers

Any recommendations for holiday companies that cater for lone travellers? I have looked on-line and they all look much of a muchnes.

Looking for somewhere with sun in August and maybe some activities (walking, eating, historical) for entertainment.

Any personal experiences of companies that do well who to avoid would be appreciated.

It must be about 8-10 years ago so my memory is hazy but I think it was soloholidays. To be honest it is the bunch of people you end up with which make it a holiday. I have been on 2 and it was very different each time but both good but as I picked an activities holiday and a tour holiday there was lots things to do in the day and the evening you spent chatting to the group more over dinner.

Do you swim? I've been on SwimTrek holidays on my own. It's not a singles holiday as such but it lends itself to lone traveling very well.

They are a lovely company as well.

I have a number of single friends who use these types of companies (I am also single but have teenagers).

They use Solos and Friendship Travel for holidays.

Thank you,
will have a closer look at Solos and Friendship Travel

I've heard good things of Swimtrek, too, though not actually been myself. Also one of my best holidays was on a yoga retreat. Though they couldn't answer all my questions about the wildlife we saw. Smile

Explore is a good company with lots of options. The Telegraph also has an article available on line with recommendations for the best solo holiday companies and what they specialise in. You would be bound to find something from the that list as it is quite extensive.

Cruising is a fabulous say to travel solo.

To hunt for the right option is really a time screwing task. Go for the relevant articles and choose the best solo holiday plan. Hope you will be furnished their with your requirement.

I always fancied the look of Dragoman and Explore Worldwide. Explore had some really awesome Antartic and Russian trips.

I did a lot of holidays with Explore - loved them - a few with exodus as well. Met some lovely people and saw some wonderful places - i found using something like that where most were single a few couples and groups of friends felt better than a solo only - but the majority on most trips were on their own. whenever I booked I just asked for the balance!
