How best to get to Tiverton?

I need to go there for a course and it looks like it would be best to fly to Bournemouth or Bristol and travel from there. Would be flying from Glasgow International or Glasgow Prestwick.
Don't know about going by rail. Anyone done that kind of trip?

you could fly to brum, then get the train into the city centre New Street station and there's straight thro trains to Tiverton and Tiverton Parkway. What about overnight sleeper on the train??
