Car seat: hire or take with?

Hi

We're flying to S France with DS who will be 8.5 mo. We'll be hiring the car there.

Is it better to hire a car seat or to take it on the plane? We have adapters so could take it on the stroller wheels?

Any experiences or recommendations?

I have always found it very expensive to hire a car seat so we always took it with us. We have not been to France though so I can't say for certain there.

Thanks sootica - I think that's what we're going to do.

I would take it, we decided not to because 3 to carry with luggage seemed too difficult but hiring them was no better. Next time I would take them definitely.

We have always travelled with our car seats - i get it wrapped at the airport which protects it well then check it in.
