Summer 2015 - Ardeche, Annecy or Italian lakes?

Having been back from holiday at least a month, I have started daydreaming about next summer! We are considering a 2 week driving trip, with the first week travelling down through colmar and into Switzerland ( probably staying somewhere in the Jungfrau region, but only for a few nights due to the cost). We then fancy finding a gite and staying put somewhere for the next week - somewhere to relax with reasonable chance of sunshine and a pool ( shared fine), but with things to do in the immediate area. Am debating between the Annecy/ Bauges region or Italian lakes, which will be about 3 hours travelling - or somewhere like the Ardeche/Drome which will be 5-6 hours driving but possibly drier? It's likely to be early August where I know everywhere will be busy but tied to first part of school holidays! The DDs will be 5 and 8.
Thankyou!

If you are going to the Jungfrau then you must stay in Lauterbrunnen. It's an amazing place. Stay at camping jungfrau. We stayed in a safari tent with eurocamp. Lauterbrunnen is the most beautiful place in the world. My children and I can't wait to go back one day.

Thankyou elizabethcharlotte, I had earmarked camping jungfrau as a possible place to stay so good to know you enjoyed it! I will have to be decisive about week 2, though then there will be nothing else to plan...

Ok I think we are leaning towards the area round Annecy as it looks stunning and risk the weather... Any other tips / recommendations for that part of the world?
