Easyjet flights in August to greece... Approx cost?

First year that I have to book in summer holidays, and I am aware that prices rocket.

Any idea how much flights to Greece are in August with easyjet? I have found perfect accommodation, but pricey and don't want to book if flights too are outrageously expensive.

Thanks so much

Talking about 2015 bow!

They're not out yet but I'd budget 350 per person I think.

We recently booked flights for 5 of us (2 adults, 1 teen - so adult - and 2 kids) to Cyprus next summer holidays.

BA was cheaper than Easyjet and we've paid £2000 for all of us in August.

Wow! I have got used to tickets for about £70 per person! Thanks for managing my expectations. I am hoping to get easyjet tickets on the day they come out, as I hear good savings that go within minutes.

It baffles me that people can do holidays for so cheap. I see threads where people are saying they spend £1500 on a week in xyz with two children. I can't get mine under £4k. Admittedly it's five star, but not top top end by any stretch of the imagination!

Sidge, how did you know cheaper? Flights not out yet. Was that based on last years figures.

Yes enjoying, we started looking earlier in the year at flights with many airlines based on this years prices at the time we need to fly next year, as we figured they wouldn't be significantly different.

I'm not convinced there are many savings to be had for popular holiday routes in the school holidays; in our experience there tends to be bargain flights for less popular routes outside of peak times. Worth trying though!

Where in Greece are you planning to go?

BA was £900 for flights for a family of 5 to Majorca next May (Spring bank school holidays). Jet2, so-called low cost airline, was over £1,600 for the same dates by the time we'd added on the extras of checked-in baggage, paying to check in etc.

Needless to say, we're flying BA. It's not the first time they've come out loads cheaper either, we saved over £800 in 2008 for two adults and a child to Verona compared to all the other airlines we were looking at.

Flights to Greece are never cheap tbh.. I would definitely book them on the day the flights come out with Easyjet op. I'm my experience that will be early October for next summer.
Flights are out now for Easter holidays and May half term. Why don't you take a a look at those to get an idea of prices. How many people are flying and where from?
Departure airport can make a big difference in price as well.

Celticlass2 · 05/09/2014 08:33

Alice that's a great price. We have booked flights to Verona for next Summer with BA. Got a good price, especially when bags are included and you get fed and watered on the flight. Smile

We have flown to Mykonos last 2 summers in school hols with easyjet ; for 4 of us it was approx £900 so not too bad. As I remember, other Islands were a bit more pricey, particularly Santorini which we fancied! I think we booked within the first couple of weeks of the flights being released but not on the first day x

Enjoyingmycoffee1981 · 06/09/2014 11:33

We are flying to thessaliniki. Two adults a 2 yr old and 5 yr old. Any time in august.

Atm on Ba I can get flights for us for £1083. Limited availability. Do you think worth it? I had thought easyjet might be about £500 but obviously I grossly underestimated!

The BA price doesn't seem hugely off the mark tbh, although you might get Easyjet ones for around £800 depending on which airport you're flying from.
Dont forget to factor in checked bags with Easyjet. This can really bump up the price.
PS, Do you pay for the two year or do they still count as an infant. I can never remember?

Enjoyingmycoffee1981 · 06/09/2014 16:42

Flying from gatwick. Oh yes, you pay for two year old son!

It may even be cheaper to book a package to Greece and not use the accommodation.
