cheapest way to do Disney in August?

I am just pricing up Disney for 5 people for next August. Assuming I can get 5 flights for 5 people no more than £3500 I think I can bring it in for about £6200 including one week universal and Disney passes. I have based this on a villa for one week near Disney and for another week near naples. Does this sound realistic?

You may well have to spend more than this overall for two weeks for five people.

£700 per person which equates to £350 each way is not realistic these days. The taxes added onto airfares also pushes the overall flight costs up.

It would probably cost each family member around 1K or more to fly to Florida from the UK in August. I would not do indirect flights; it just adds hours to a very long day and you would also need to allow at least 2 hours (bare minimum) to clear US immigration and customs before boarding the next flight.

Also August in Florida can be very wet (they get lots of thunderstorms at that time of year) along with high levels of humidity. Its something too to be borne in mind.

Thank you so much. I should have added that we have companion flights we can use for BA and also loads of American miles so they might both be an option. We would also consider flying indirect even though it is longer, we have done it before and it was ok. Unfortunately August is the only option for various reasons but definitely take your point about the rain and humidity.

We recently booked a Florida holiday for August 2015 for 5.

With flights, villa, car hire, flexi tickets to Disney, Universal, Seaworld, Water Parks and a day at Discovery Cove it's costing £10k, then there's the spends which we're budgeting £2k ish.

Needless to say it's going to be the holiday of a lifetime!

We too can only go in August.

It might be worth comparing prices for on-site hotels with meals. We did two weeks at Disney's Old Key West (apartment) with meal plan, tickets etc for around that price (with meals inc) then payed extra for a day out at Universal. That was for 4 of us all counted as adults.

We didn't have a problem with the rain/humidity as were were prepared for it!

For 2 weeks in august this year cost us £5.5k

Seems like we're paying double for the same holiday

We are just back. We spent about 10k excluding food. Holiday of a lifetime. Weather was fine - hot with a bit of rain late afternoon. I thought the food was dire, but loved the rides. We did time in NY and on Gulf Coast and i Preferred those bits to Disney.

France next year!

We are just back to from two weeks Orlando and one week Clearwater Beach. Had a fabulous time

The cheapest I've done is with Monarch - two weeks for two adults and one child in a 3 bed Villa with own pool, hire car and flights (to Sanford which took 20 minutes to drive to Orlando from) for £2500. This was October though so a little out of UK seasons and holidays.

Are you sure you want to do August in the heat and humidity?
