Hong Kong stopover with 12 & 9 yr olds

We're planning a 4/5 day stopover to HK on the way home from Oz next summer. Our kids will be a hard to please12 year old and her more enthusiastic sibling, aged 9.

Does anyone have any 'must sees' that they can recommend please? I've seen lots of stuff to do in HK - almost too much to process to be honest and I always value a personal recommendation.

TIA

Avoid Disney, it's small and probably best suited to the under 10s.

this sound and light show is good:

to avoid a big mobile bill, take a small radio to pick up the sound.

I second the Big Buddha - in fact I second staying on Lantau.

BTW check expected weather before you go. I'm not sure whose summer you are referring to, but HK does go from cold and damp to hot and steamy so pack appropriately!

If you stay at the YMCA/ Salisbury hotel and have a corner/ family room you will be able to see the light show from your window every night. Seriously, this is one of the best value hotels in HK. It's located next to the peninsula hotel, but considerably cheaper!
