On your own or with kids?
There is shopping in the city centre, or more interesting shops down on ecclesall road (and some nice cafés to grab a snack).
Botanical gardens if the weather is nice.
If with kids maybe Weston park and museum. (Interactive and free or very cheap)

On my own!
So Ecclesall Rd sounds good.
Are there any galleries or arty things too?

The winter gardens in the centre is nice, has a small art gallery.

You'd want to get a bus to ecclesall rd I reckon.

Art Gallery on top floor of the Library worth a visit too - on your right as you walk up from the station. Peace Gardens lovely to sit out on a good day. Millennium Gallery (as previously mentioned) interesting too.
