Where are you going on holiday this summer?

If you´re going away this summer, where are you off to?

We are on the eve of our proper holiday now and I am feeling unashamedly and extremely excited, not that we are going too far.

We live abroad so will be going to London tomorrow and then to Yorkshire for a total of two weeks in the mother land so the kids can speak plenty of English, experience life without air-conditioning and watch their parents devour a decent curry (we will let them eat some too, if they´re quick!) Then we´re going to Holland for 10 days, no plans yet other than the flights and a few late night chats. Finally to the north of Spain for the beach and a final stint of relaxation and fun before the full-time school schedule kicks in again.

I just can´t wait to get away! There´s something about being away from home that is so inherently relaxing. grin

We're going to the Lake District. Highlights should include the Pencil Museum but it's the first holiday my cousin and her kids have had ever, the first trip they've been on since coming to the UK and they really need a break after a shit time. I'm looking forward to it, I've not seen much of the British countryside

I have not been to the Lake District but would expect (and hope) there is more to it than a pencil museum...each to their own, of course.

We are going on a cruise visiting Istanbul, Nessebur in Bulgaria, Constanta in Romania and the Greek island Mykonos. The ship then sails back to Turkey and we will stay for a week at a hotel in Oul Deniz.

The Lake District is breathtakingly beautiful and there is a lot to do there. Beatrix Potter World is a must for young children.

Wow OP You certainly are travelling lots. You must be lucky to be in a job that allows so much time off (and assuming pays well?) I am not being sarcastic but you are lucky.
I get the time (6 weeks) but not the salary that allows such extensive travel.

We're off to Turkey on Tuesday for 2 weeks with DS aged 2. Never been before, We used to go on an Easter cruise until DS arrived and a weeks holiday at our timeshare in Madeira but that's finished at a time when DS is getting active and needs a complex that 'has it all'!

France - this Wednesday for a week and a half.

Can not wait.

Just looking forward to relaxing, and driving around seeing the sites.

Haven't packed a thing yet though :)

Hurrah for holidays! Junkfoodaddict I'm a teacher so it's holiday time although I seem to have plenty of planning, etc. to get on with. My husband is self-employed so will be working when he needs/wants to via laptop. We're very lucky with the long summer holiday.

Hi we are off to Salou for a week at the end of summer. Also got another 2 weeks off, might see what last minute offers abroad there are or just do a city break and seaside few days in U.K.

I'm going to Portugal for a few days next week with dd, then Tenerife in October with dh and ds too. This will be our last holiday with the 4 of us as dd is already planning her first holiday with her pals for next year.
Can't wait to feel the sun on my back again!
