I'm looking at taking my son away for his 4th birthday in September we will also be taking our 6 month old. I have narrowed it down to Drayton manor(for Thomas land), Alton towers, chessington or legoland. Can anyone reccomend any of these please

My DS (4) loves Thomas Land. There's also a surprising number of rides suitable for babies (we took my daughter too aged 9 months).

We found Legoland a bit of a flop. DS was too little for many of the rides and the queues for the ones he could go on were ridiculous so we spent most of the day in the splash park area.

Can't comment on Chessington or AT for kids.

I love legoland, but agree with the poster above that for a 4 year old Drayton Manor is better.

Legoland - the minimum height is normally 0.9m, so it very much depends on the child. A couple of things are for older children or I wouldn't go with a smaller one, we went into the Viking Raft and DD's friend is a small and tiny one and had problems holding tight.

We went on an Inset Day last week and it was ok, lots of pre-schoolers but on a weekend it may be heaving and then you have an issue and pay extra for the Q-bots.

Chessington - I think DD went the first time when she was 5.5. I find some rides quite tame and 0.9m again is the minimum height for most of the calmer rides. But it still means you have to go with him on the rides, going alone is most likely not an option, I think that is 1.20m for Chessington and 1.30m for Legoland.

What about Paultons Park also home of Peppa Pig World

Paultons Park or Gullivers Land

Sundown, South Yorkshire, is brilliant for little ones.

Another vote for Peppa Pig World- 4 year old adores it.

we also thought Legoland wasn't that amazing

Gullivers land is fab for that age Smile
