And the kids don't have a clue. Good job as they are being total shites at the moment.

We did this 3 years ago. Were going to tell the DC on DD1's birthday. But then a relative died so we weren't sure if we could go or not. We bought an emergency birthday present.

It turned out we could get back in time for the funeral, so I packed the case once the DC were in bed and HUD it in the car (along with a couple of other things and the kitchen sink) and we told the DC we were "going on a bear hunt". We caught the train with the car, DC didn't realise we were on the wrong side of the road, missed the huge bill boards along the motorway and a 6' Mickey in the timeshare lobby.

We got to our cottage and their cousins poured out from the one next door, shouting "we are going to Disneyland"

The look on their faces was soooooooo worth it.
