Romantic break needed in the UK . . . with children ?

I want to take dh away for a few days near our anniversary but we will have to take the children (8, 4 and 7 mths). Any recommendations? Is the chance to have a nice romantic meal an unrealistic expectation?
We are in the South West so too far north is probably out of the question but all suggestions welcome

Calcot Manor is great near Tetbury - it's not a real kiddies hotel, but they have a playbarn which has different zones for all ages - you can leave them for as long or as little as you like, they do a kids buffet tea (good quality) and you can take them in the pool around 4 in the afternoon, plus listening / babysitting services. For you + dh there is a spa etc or you can sit in the hotel having coffee by an open fire, bedrooms are lovely, fancy restaurant of pub-style one.

How about a child friendly hotel. Are there places which will lay on entertainment for the children so you can have some time alone with your dh?

Bedruthan steps hotel or Sands resort (both cornwall, both very child friendly and run creches for children)

We went to Fowey Hall in Cornwall which was really lovely.
I got a peaceful evening of drinks and dinner with dh which is all I really wanted.

Their indoor pool was great.Very warm,so we spent hours in it.

Fantastic - thanks - we had gone to Moonfleet Manor a couple of years ago and it was lovely. Wanted something similar but had not tried any of the others before.
