can anyone recommend one for a weekend break with dh & no kids, hurrah!

Ooh, yes, will find my recent thread with lots of recomendations on it. We stayed at One Aldwych recently and it was fab, hang on, will find the thread.

Live just outside London so never stayed in one but the Charlotte St Hotel is lovely.

I am staying at the KIngswood in Covent Garden on Monday night..you can book it on secret hotels on lastminute. Looks great will report back

thanks www just wizzed through that lot! didn't even know the Forbury existed and I've lived in Readnig for 40 years! It used to be part of Reading tech college and I had Law & French lessons in there many years ago!!! I am amazed - it looks fab.

One alwych sounds good, although maybe a little pricey - will take a look in a bit. Happy to spend a bit, and do want central for shopping/theatre/restaurants etc...

If you've got the nerve (and childcare) to book it at the last minute then laterooms is v good. Threadneedle, which is a boutique hotel in the city, was on Laterooms for £100 for a room that normally cost £455 just before we went. But we decided it would be too quiet in the City on Sat night! Btw, we spent so much because of ridiculously extravagent suite/private hire of the cinema/cocktails/dinner/cabs/etc so it wasn;t just hotel price in case that put you off!
