I am hoping you see this before you head off to the Cook Islands, but won't be around tomorrow to bump it.

where did you stay near to Hot Water Beach.. we are booking a few campsites now so that I don't get too neurotic (dh would go anywhere in his rv!) I just wondered if you stayed anywhere you would recomomend as nice. We have campervan.. don't know if you have stayed in hotels tho'

robinpud ... with most NZ campsites the 'top ten' ones are usually a good bet.

Hot Water Beach is on the Coromandel isn't it? Not far from Hahei ... there is a campsite there, right next to Hahei beach - lovely spot. I never stayed there but friends of mine have and they say it is ok.

Thank you Poopy and St G.. to be honest I am not sure if RTKmummy did camp this trip. Someone on another thread posted a warning to me about it being a little lively at New Year on the Peninsula and the mozzies being voracious! Dh has found a couple that look ok but wikll look at the Hahei site too.
