Canaries winter sun break in January - will I need a heated pool?

I am wanting to book a winter sun break in January - will the hotel pool be freezing if it isn't heated?

My dd lives to swim, so if the pool is too cold it will spoil the holiday for her

...and does anyone have any recommendations of where to stay?

we stayed at the sun tropical holiday village in lanzarote last feb - really good! However, we couldn't swim in the larger pools as they weren't heated and were freezing.

there are some good hotels with heated pools on the south of fuerteventura, I'm told, but haven't been there.

Thanks for the responses!

MaloryFT - Egypt is boiling in winter, the sea is warm too but the pools there are utterly freezing if they aren't heated...where do you go and are you sure the pool isn't heated ?

Bramblebrooks did your hotel have a heated pool as well as the unheated ones?

I would say that you deffo need it heated. we even get a heated pool in florida. We have been to tenerife twice in january (4th, and the 15th)and the weather was changable each day. We did have rain for 1 hour one dayl, but even when it was cloudy it was still warm, i wouldnt say it was boiling everyday though. Have also been to Lanzerote for xmas and newyear and that was the same.

Mousie - we went to Lanzarote in March, and you'd definitely know the difference between the heated and non-heated pools!!
My DS was 2.5 and he spent the whole time in the grown-ups pool and occasionally in the kiddie pool.
We stayed in the Princesa Yaiza on the Playa Blanca and it was lovely, though pricey.
