Do any airports have soft play type places?

We were on holiday a couple of months ago, the holiday was great but I found the whole airport experience a bit of a nightmare. Ds being 22 months at the time just wanted to run about as you would expect and at one point even managed to nearly get through passport control again! I would have paid the earth to take him to one of those soft play places do they exist at airports does anyone know?

I'm sure I have seen one at Nottinghm East Midlands and when we flew from Birmingham in May I noticed a nice little play area, but unfortunately too late as it was tucked away near the depature gates!

it's terminal 1 at Heathrow that has the soft play

also terminal 4 has a lounge specifically for families (you have to pay but don't think it's excessive)

Does Gatwick? Will be there on friday and was wondering the same thing! If so, where, not having noticed one pre-kids.

LIZS · 01/08/2006 16:09

There used to be little ones at some of the Gatwick South Terminal departure gates and a soft play area upstairs groundside . Zurich has a playroom with changing/feeding/sleeping facitlites for tots. tbh best idea is to check in as late as possible and minimise the wait, or you may be able to do so online the day before although we've not been able to do so with kids yet.

I think I've seen one at Manchester airport too

gatwick north defintely has. we were there recently and ds played for ages with lots of other children his age. they also have these little things that look like big computer terminals - not sure what they are though as ds wouldnt come out of the soft play area. can you take some toys for them to play with while waiting.
