Where is it best to sit on a plane?

Only going short haul to France but just checking in online and can choose our seats. Where is supposed to be most comfy? Not over a wing I presume? I thought at the back, but then they always put business class up the front so is that prime positioning?

Much quieter and less bumpy towards the front
