Where is it best to sit on a plane?

Only going short haul to France but just checking in online and can choose our seats. Where is supposed to be most comfy? Not over a wing I presume? I thought at the back, but then they always put business class up the front so is that prime positioning?

Much quieter and less bumpy towards the front

Thanks OCD. That was perfect! Won't let you book the exit row seats (extra legroom) with child though, but got the next best. Thanks
