Hi there, we are considering taking our baby on a weeks holiday in April when she will be 6 month old.
My concerns are where she would sleep, does anyone have experience with this? I assume hotels would provide a travel cot but how clean will it be and how good will it be? Where has your babies slept when away? Wasn't sure if a buggy would be better?
Thanx in advance for any advice

I took ds to Menorca at 10 weeks old! I took a travel cot as had been a hol rep in the past and knew the standards some hotels thought were ok. However, the travel cot provided was great so we used ours as a play pen as had a very spacious 1 bed apt. We took formula (non standard formula) and sterilising tablets and bought a bucket out there!! The apt did come with a microwave but I didn't know that beforehand otherwise would have sterilised that way. Bought Spanish nappies etc and it was sooooooooo relaxing! Did bath, brittle, bed (into lie flat buggy) be fire we went out so he was asleep and we could enjoy our meal - if he woke up the old granny/mother overseeing restaurant would normally jig him about and gave a cuddle/give bottle to ket us eat! Was a similar story with dd at 6 mo but we had a toddler to deal with then as well... Enjoy this year Wink

Best to call the hotel and check. Some have actual cots and others have travel cots, but standards vary hugely, depending on where you are going. As long as they have one of those fold-up mesh-sided ones it should be fine. You can always take your own sheets. I used to travel a lot with my DD at this age and ended up taking my own travel cot so that I knew it was safe. It probably wouldn't be very comfortable for baby to sleep in a buggy, unless you have a carry-cot which is completely flat.

I always went for apartments when dd was small so she could be put to bed in another room. Never had a problem with travel cots. She would nap in the pushchair during the day and in the evening I would get her ready for bed and we would go out for a stroll and a drink. If she settled we would go and grab a meal, if not, we would get a pizza or something and take it back to the apartment. Dd had been to France x 2, Italy x 3 and Spain before her 2nd birthday.

We have taken ours away since they were tiny and we have always stayed in apartments or villas.

Most hotels/apartments have travel cots but you would need to book in advance. You can take your own bedding if you are worried.

Our girls usually ended up in bed with us wherever we stayed.

I would think a buggy very unconfortable to sleep in all night.
