The baltic in a camper van - any suggestions?

Having re-read my title I should clarify the obvious - that's the countries bordering the baltic sea, rather than an ill conceived attempt to sail around the Baltic in a camper van.

We are planning a four week tour this summer - hiring a camper van and exploring Northern Europe. We'll definitely spend some time on the Polish Baltic coast somewhere but the rest is all to be decided. Any suggestions for a destinations? Sprogs (6 and 9) are thankfully tolerant of long journeys, providing sufficient electronic sedation is to hand.

Thanks!

Denmark and Sweden could work as easy to drive from one country to the other.

Vilnius & Klaipeda in Lithuania are fab (am slightly biased as I spent 2 fantastic years living in Vilnius), but I have heard horror stories about the road from Poland into Lithuania (one of the highest rates of traffic accidents apparently, but may have changed since my time there).

I didn't get to Latvia, but visited Estonia and loved it. Tallinn is well worth a trip, and there's a ferry (I'm trying to remember if it's a car ferry or just passenger) to Helsinki from Tallin which would give you good access to Scandinavia if you were interested (I'd stock up on booze before you make the trip if you like even the occasional glass of wine in the evening, it's extortionate in Helsinki & very cheap in Estonia)

I loved that part of the world and I'm dying to get back, the history is fascinating if you are into that (especially WW2 era in both Vilnius & Klaipeda, and there's a frankly terrifying KGB museum in Vilnius)

Good luck - I'm terribly jealous!

Ohhhhhh thank you both (booze tip especially welcome!) vvviola, we are used to polish roads and the occasional sight of double overtaking cars heading towards you - but will investigate the Lithuania route as that doesn't sound great. DH has now also chucked a desire to go whale watching into the mix. Anyone drive from the artic circle down to the Baltic? Are we being a little over ambitious?

Second recommendation for Estonia, I cycled from Tallinn to St Petersburg last summer and the Estonia side was lovely - very pretty countryside, the people are very friendly and keen for you to have the best experience of their country etc. Food was a bit limited (I am fussy and veggie tho) but the booze was cheap! I imagine hugging the coast line would be lovely in a camper - and Tallinn itself was lovely, easy to walk around and even I found plenty to eat there. Your journey sounds awesome!

Let me know if you want to stop and rent bikes in Tallinn I have a great address

We went on a Baltic Cruise and visited some of the places that have been mentioned, such an interesting part of the world.
