My cousin owns a caravan on the Gower. Am hoping to hire it from him for a few days in the summer hols. Just wondered what's around and if anyone would recommend it for a family holiday - dds 7 and 4.
TIA

Hey Sparkler! How you doing? We had family holidays on the Gower for about 5 years. It was fab. There are loads of lovely beaches.

Hello Stranger. I'm okay - now. Had a bit of a week last week but okay now.
How are you keeping?
Tried to phone my cousin tonight but he was out. Am hoping that he will have a week free for us to use the caravan. Bit tricky when they live quite close to it and probably use it a lot themselves. Will just have to wait and see.

I live on Gower so may be a bit biased but here goes.

If the weather is fine it is unlikely that you'll get far rom the beach.

If you need things to do you could go to Gower Heritage Centre in Parkmill which is fab for families - animals, duck racing (fake ducks on their little canal) soft play area, shops, cafe/restaurant etc - they're on the web. There's also plenty of community leisure centres and the national pool, National waterfront museum, Swansea Museum, shops in the town cente, Mumbles for a little train ride to the Blackpill Lido - outdoor toddler type pool with park and restaurant, plenty of great parks one with a boating lake.

Within a 30min drive you've got the Wildfowl and Wetlands Cente in Llanelli, Margam Park in Port Talbot.

Hopefully you won't need any of that as the weather has been great and everyone has been down the beach! This site may help - the must must do page has loads of help. Check this out
