Sandy beaches and activities/local attractions a must. We'd hire a car so distance from attractions etc not too much of an issue.

Where have you been lately that you'd recommend ?

we have been to menorca in past, lots going on for all ages. went to ibiza this year, also good but not as good for very young children. (portugal is mean't to be really good with children too).

I'm going to Majorca this summer - my teenage cousin has been a few times & loved it. There seem to be plenty of different attractions.

To be honest I think anywhere in the Balearics / Spain & possibly Canaries / Greece (although a bit longer flight) would probably be suitable.

Several people I know reccomend Malaga (although say to stay away from Torremolinos etc)

Hope this helps.

Have been to Salou a few times for Port Aventura theme park but never actually stayed in Salou itself. Stayed at themepark hotel and Cap Salou (lovely beach). Very easy to get about, train goes to Barcelona, Tarragona and Cambrils, so there is lots to do. Also two waterparks, one at Port Avenutra (Costa Caribe) and one at La Pineda.

magalluf/palma nova.we stayed at the marina torrenova in may.beautiful hotel;wonderful staff;lovely rooms;gorgeous food and plenty to do in the evening for kids or plenty outside for the teenagers-depending on how old the teens are of course! plenty of nightlife in both palma-nova and magalluf. maybe more for the 15's and over though!

We went to the same area as cutekids a 10 years back and it was really good when dd was 2. There are two waterparks in majorca, one near alcudia that is definately worth a visit. There are water parks in menorca and ibiza (they are smaller, but still good). majorca had some good caves, a marine world and the pirate show nr magaluf is really popular. I had forgotten about it untill i read cutekids post, but would love to go back there!
