Staffordshire day out recommendations please

We're spending a few nights up near Stoke on Trent. We have one day planned at Alton Towers. Can anyone recommend any other good days trips or nice places to potter up there.

There's a water world at festival park in stoke.

Trentham gardens has a monkey world place that's worth a visit.

Shugborough hall - national trust.

Cadbury world if you want to venture into Birmingham?

Thanks for your reply. We've done Cadbury World a few times (we're chocolate lovers!), but the other suggestions could be handy. Like the idea of Trenthem Gardens with the monkeys, we are staying at a hotel on Festival Park so Waterworld would be handy and Shugborough Hall if the weather is iffy!
