mmm a tough one, there are so many!

For strolling along and for scenic points it has to be Newborough, I don't know about the sea for swimming though.

Benllech has a blue flag and is great for the kids, nice sandy beach with an ice cream stand on one side.
Lots of people like Rhosneigr but we nearly got flattened by wind/kite/surfer types the last time we went. Big open beach, lots of space for football.
We stay near Lligwy Bay (just north of Moelfre) which has sand, rock pools, a small river, ice cream van and a private footpath to it from the campsite.

Will that do for now? if I think of anymore I'll let you know

PS We're going camping there next weekend (great big double )

treaddur bay is lovely, but can get busy so if u go past that one and keep following the road round, past plas darien holiday cottage place, past the pebbly beach, there is a lovely secluded beach and its really lovely. think there is a snack van but there are loo's.

Treaddur bay beach has cafe, toilets, ice cream van etc but at touristy prices

nothing to add to Lucy's post tbh.

Benllech popular.

Newborough popular but in forestry commisiion land- cost £2 to get down there and nothing there in the way of facilities apart for a loo. no shop or food or anything.

It is where Demi Moore filmed her latest film though

Did I spell everything right pixie? I get a bit nervous when 'doing' any Welsh posts in case I mortally offend someone!

Which is your favourite?

Pixiefish · 02/07/2006 21:06

We go to Newborough (or Llanddwyn as its also known) several times a week, we take chips with us and then go for a walk on the beach (at tea time obviously)

Dd has eczema and suncream aggravates her so we tend to keep out of the sun during the day. I was bought up near Benllech and love that side of the island- we used to go to Traeth Bychan a lot in the summer and Lligwy.

Not really had time for beaches until recently and I'm not one for sunbathing.

All your spellings were right lucy

My sil lives in Trearddur Bay and in the summer, my dds are v of their cousins.

Personally, I wouldn't want to live there - too far away from civilisation for me, but lovely when we go and visit.

Pixiefish · 03/07/2006 17:18

Where's too far from civilisation emseiewill- Anglesey or trearddur Bay?

emsiewill · 03/07/2006 22:50

Trearddur Bay - cos it's right at the end of the island, and so far to get to anywhere else. Of course those who live there may not want to go anywhere else
