Hello, right we're going to Majorca on the 20th and we want to hire a car, obviously we'll need a car seat for lo, the problem is you can't pay for the seat in your booking, it says car seats from £5 a day to be paid locally. I've been reading car hire money saving tips online and they say to take a car seat with you as they will rip you off when you get there and you will have to pay as you need a car seat!! The problem is I haven't booked a seat for lo he will be sat on out laps, we are flying with Norwegian and on their website it says this:
"Children/infants
Infants (under 2 years) seated on parent’s lap are permitted up to 5 kg of checked baggage (either in the parent's checked baggage or in a separate bag). Normal checked baggage conditions apply for all children/infants who have purchased their own seat.
All children up to 11 years incl. are permitted one car seat and one stroller free of charge in addition to their permitted baggage allowance. We recommend that you always protect your stroller/car seat when you travel. Read more about baggage protection."
Does this mean I can take a car seat even though he's on our laps or does it mean you can take one only if you have booked a seat for him? Also if I am allowed to take a seat, does it go in the hold with the suitcases or do we have to carry it around the airport with us? As it's not the smallest of seats, in fact it's prob one of the biggest (maxi cosy tobi) and where does it go on the plane?
Any help would be much appreciated.
