Talk to me about Stockholm

I am due to go to Stockholm for 4 days and I'm on a budget. I'm staying very centrally and I will be exploring on foot. I'd love some recommendations for places to see/ eat. What can I not miss? What is worth splashing out on? I'd love some advice! TIA, shoot.

The old town is beautiful (Gammlastad - I think it is called). The shops are very odd. You could certainly spend an afternoon peering through windows in surprise. Unfortunately Stockholm is generally quite expensive...

Hmmm, I keep reading that it's mega expensive! We are booked into a hotel not too far from Gamla Stan so that's exciting. Was just hoping to find some insider knowledge on places to go/ eat etc. Thanks
