No you cant get the same formula milks in france as there are in the UK.

Blossom2's right, I've never seen the same (not even different packaging, same supplier). Also, it's generally more expensive in France, and I think I read somewhere (not checked this, sorry) that they're generally "richer" and slightly higher fat content than we're used to.....

My children at 9m plus never moaned, but would take regular stuff for younger children. One thing I liked over there was mini bottles you could just screw a teat on to. More follow on milk though.

tobysmumkent is right about the formula milk's content - it is generally richer and more fat than UK milk.

i would take yr own milk. we took a tub of SMA with us to Tunisa recently and it was fine. used satchas for the journey..

You could bring a tin of your normal milk and just buy little bottles of evian mineral water here to make it up. Evian is the one that everyone here uses for babies and does not need boiling before use.

The formula milks here are different brands to those in the UK. I have no idea of which are which. Fresh milk is harder to get than in the UK, so I use follow on milk (ready made up, to add to my sins Grin). I use Carrefour organic (bio) baby follow on milk which comes in litre bottles. You can also buy some baby milks here in ready made bottles with the teats attached.....

Where are you going to be. It has been very hot here but it is raining this morning (south west France).

Thanks everyone. Think I will just take some from here then. I use Aptamil at the moment.

Ggglimpopo - We are off to Brittany. Would really love to go further down but the travellimg with kids just puts me off!!Where are you?

LaylaandSethsmum, I´d phone the information number on the Aptimal box and ask if it´s available in France and under what name. It may well be there under a different name and different packaging. Last time I just had to order mine at the chemist´s and it arrived the next day no problem.

Aptamil and Hipp are available in parts of Europe and look very similar in packaging. Do read the make up procedures carefully though as the number of scoops of powder to water may differ.
