This is probably a really silly question but I just can't seem to find the answer!
We are going on holiday at the weekend and fly at lunch time ish, I wanted to take some sandwiches etc for lunch to have on the plane. Can I buy some before we get to the airport (its a tiny airport with hardly any shops there) and put some and a few drinks in hand luggage or will i get stopped at security. I guess the drinks would probably be a problem but food??? I have searched the website and all it says is you are welcome to eat your own food not whether you have to buy it after security.
Any ideas??

Food is fine (no liquid based foodstuff like yogurt is allowed however) but buy drinks post security. Drinks are still subject to the 100ml rule.

If airport shops are poor in terms of selection or choice I'd take along my own sandwiches in any case.

You can take sandwiches/sausage rolls/quiche, but not yogurt/mousse/tub of hummus/jelly or drinks.

Thanks so much! One less thing to think about :-)

I have a collection of the miniature bottles in which booze is sold on charter flights at an extortionate price. I fill some with gin or vodka in advance, stick them in a clear poly bag, and have never had a problem with security.
