Both Chessington & Thorpe park are a similar distance from us but which would be better for DS(almost 8)? He's been to Paultons Park & Disneyland Paris so is ok on roller coaster rides.

Chessington every time Thorpe Park is mainly big rides for teenagers.

Chessington has the zoo, so I think that offers more. However Thorpe Park is fab it does have bigger rides though.

chessington. at 8 he won't be tall enough probably for most of the big rides at Thorpe park

titchy · 21/07/2013 18:04

Chessington assuming he's under 140cm - the minimum for most TP rides.

bishboschone · 21/07/2013 18:04

Chessington.

Defo chessington. My daughter aged 9 about 130cm tall can only go on about 8 max rides at Thorpe park. Chessington has l

Stupid phone. Lots of rides, zoo, aquarium and new safari ride! Hope you have a great day!

If he's over 130cm and likes big rides,
Thorpe park. Mine are 7 and 8 and both prefer TP now; there is plenty to do for a day there, including water rides on a hot day. There will be 5/6 really big ones he can't do, but loads of exciting stuff he can.

That said if he loves animal Chessington has that too, but if you are going for the rides, TP.

HystericalParoxysm · 21/07/2013 19:21

How tall is he? I'd decide based on that.

Grockle · 22/07/2013 01:52

Fab, thank you. He's about 125cm tall, I think so Chessington sounds much better. I'm excited!

There is tonnes for kids to do at chessington, and shows . Thorpe park is definitely more for adults and thrill seeking bigger kids . Have a great day .

cloudskitchen · 24/07/2013 22:33

Definitely Chessington. Thorpe park for older kids. Legoland Windsor?

Just popping back to say Chessington was FAB! It took forever to get there so we arrived later than I hoped, about 11. It was so busy, I bought some fast track tickets & they were totally worth it! We had an amazing day & are ready to try Legoland again... we went 2 yrs ago but DS was still a bit small & frightened.
