paddling pools open in SE London?

Hi everyone, I am wondering if any of the paddling pools in Brockwell Park, Ruskin Park or Streatham Common are open given there is a hosepipe ban. Has anyone seen them open this week?

Thanks.

I drove past the upper pool on Streatham Common the other day and there was a crowd of people there. I'm not sure whether there was water inside or whether they had just migrated to their habitual sunbathing spot. The Brockwell Park one was not open last time I looked.

I understand that paddling pools are allowed under hosepipe bans (but not under drought orders).

Thanks to the Streatham Mums thread I actually ventured up there this week. I have lived 3 minutes walk away for 9 years, DS1 is 8 and I've never been before Blush

There is water in the top paddling pool (none in the bottom as far as I can tell) When I went weds/thurs afternoons they were only partly full, but that was fine (majority of kids were 3 and under) The water jets around the side were working as well, hence large numbers of screaming, wet 2 yr olds Grin

DD (2.6) had a great time, we'll be back next week. Actually, having no garden I'm tempted to walk up there to eat lunch every day but will resist the urge!

I'm talking about the Streaham ones, sorry!

{brain not attached today obviously]

Also meant to say, when we drove back from school today it looks like they've completely filled the top pool. I was very tempted to stop even with DSs still in uniform.

Arranged a meetup this afternoon at the top Streatham paddling pool, only to discover that it's been padlocked shut whilst they chop down some of the lovely shadey trees No idea when it will reopen as there are no notices up.

That's bad news, serenity, but thanks for telling us! Hope the meet-up went OK.

Bit more of a drive for you but still SE London - Belvedere splashpark, Woolwich Road, Belvedere (near Bexleyheath). Free entry, cafe, nice clean toilets but no baby change room (I don't think). Perfect during the school day for toddlers, more water jets than pools. 11am-5pm. Swim nappies compulsory.
