BJCM or Ergo for travels?

Going away a couple of times in the near future and trying to work out what will be most convenient and still suitable.

Trip 1: city break, long weekend (mild-to-cold weather)
Trip 2: small town, 10 days (v. hot, average 30s, currently reaching up to mid-30s and the odd 40 Shock)
Details: me, DH, 7mo DS, no car/can't drive, happy walkers, flying to and from both places

We recently travelled to see relatives in a couple of different places (UK countryside), 10 day trip, took only the Ergo, did lots of walking, nice weather but low 20s, breeze, v. long travel by train there and back, but it was all good and would do again.

Did a day out once home (big city), was hot and sticky (high 20s, no breeze), again in the Ergo, all fine but DS needed letting out to be carried normally on the odd occasion as he got a bit fussy. I'm wondering if this was because of the heat as he was absolutely fine for the entire time that we were in the country.

We normally use the BJCM in the city and the Ergo when we're going around places that are less accessible with the pushchair by public transport.

So now I can't decide...

  • will the BJCM be better for the city break? More likely to be browsing shops, stopping at cafes/restaurants...?
  • will DS be too hot in the Ergo in the small town?

Any advice or experience appreciated!

Bump!

Perhaps I should have asked... pushchair vs carrier?
