Wondering which area would suit us best. We'll be travelling with two 9 year olds....expect to visit usual tourist spots by day but would like to stay around interesting restaurants/cafes. Any ideas please?

And we won't be visiting EuroDisney so no need to be closeby.

I like the 6th, lots of interesting things for the day time, and fab restaurants for the evening. Hotels not too expensive, and good rail links.

We can probably spend up to £200 a night for 3 nights - not that we want to spend that much, it's more the location....we don't want to be eating out and then getting a taxi/train home and we want nice cafes, restaurants, shops etc. Kids are adventurous eaters so no need to cater specifically for them.

The Ibis in Maison Lafitte is very reasonable it is on the fast RER that goes through La Defense and Charles de Gaulle/Etoile so very good for central Paris. Maison Lafitte is lovely suburb and very leafy.
