Streeyhead, we have decided that we are staying in the UK this year - have you tried looking for a cottage as we have a family holiday home booked in the Forest Of Dean for Feb - looks really pretty and is only an hour away from us. Think it may only be 3 hours from South London. Only cost £200 for the week try www.cottages4you.co.uk
Sorry haven't worked out links yet

or go to west doset - Lyme regis and golden cap?

tamum · 30/01/2004 14:38

I'm with mrcheese on this one, Lyme Regis is lovely. If you want to look for cottages in that region the best place is Lyme Bay Holidays ; they pretty much corner the market and are very helpful and knowledgeable.

have you thought about the isle of wight?? i love it there. lots of accommodation options too.

tamum · 30/01/2004 14:46

We go every year, saddos that we are. I grew up not too far from there, and like it because it's a small town with a bit of life to it, but with beautiful surroundings. The beach in Lyme only has one sandy bit at high tide, but there are other beaches close by that are more sandy. Let me know if you want any more info!
