How many cases for 5 of us for a weeks holiday?

Whaddaya reckon? I've got 2 big solid samsonite suitcases. Just been throwing a few things in one of them and I'm sure I'm going to need 2 for all of our stuff. We are only going for a week - is this excessive?!

Sounds ok to me. We normally take one solid case plus a soft bag or 2 solid cases for 4 of us. Just watch they aren't too heavy to lift though - we've had a couple marked "heavy" at well over 20kg !

We take LOADS. One large case each plus hand luggage. DSs are 15 and 14 and take as many clothes as we do. Was much easier when they were just little!

it is best to take a case each as you have 20kg then. if you combine 2 peoples into one case, a single item cannot weigh more than 32kg. so you have lost out on 8kg.
