Hotels/apartments in Dublin with small DC?

Hello,

I'd like to visit my brother in Dublin but he can't put us up (shares a flat) so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for accommodation in Dublin, as central as possible with a DS 5 and DD 2. An apartment would be best as then we could self cater as money is tight, but would be interested in hotels too. Either August or next Spring.

Haven't been to Dublin in years but used to stay in Bewleys in Ballsbridge - not self-catering but room price of c.?109 and downstairs is a good restaurant and cafe and loads of places to sit, plus it's central. It used to suit us with small kids.

Just a thought, during summer months there are often rooms available at universities whilst students are off. Don't know if any institutions offer this in Dublin or if so, what size accommodation is available but worth a look?
